First Presbyterian Church of Chittenango

Small Group Ministry

Several small groups meet weekly to study the Bible, to pray together, and to support and encourage each other in our faith. The groups will begin meeting again each fall and welcome new participants. Contact the leader for more specifics about the group. The groups will be listed below when they begin. Each group prays and looks forward to who the Lord will send to join them!

What Do Small Groups Do?

There are usually three elements in each small group. The emphasis varies depending on the nature of the group and how long the people have been together. These elements are:

1. Study - A study of some aspect of the Christian faith or experience, usually using the Bible or a Christian book.

2. Sharing - Through personal sharing, listening, affirmation, and prayer, a supportive Christian community is built.

3. Mission - The group looks for ways of applying what they have learned and experienced for the benefit of others

Our Current Schedule

Every Thursday at 1:00 PM John Button leads a bible study in our church library. We are currently studying the Book of Mark using a book "The Gospel of Mark" by Max Lucado. There is plenty of discussion as we explore the Book of Mark. This is a coed group and all members of the community are welcome!

Cheryl Given leads a ladies Bible Study on Monday evenings. This study is also open to all members of the community.
